National day celebration in Buea

The D-day has almost come to an end. In fact, it’s just few minutes to midnight for this day to go down in history. Today, Cameroonians have officially celebrated the 44th edition of the 20th National Day, under the theme “Defence forces, Dynamic forces, Let’s join together to protect the Territorial Integrity of the Nation”.
Here in Buea, the march pass parade was very beautiful. Some of the officials present to commemorate this event included the Governor of the South West Region Bernard Okalia Bilai, the Mayor, the SDO, and some traditional rulers.
The parade was colourful and included pupils and students from primary and secondary schools respectively, higher institutions, political parties as well as forces of law and order who started the marching.
This year’s theme is stressing on the need of the forces of law and order to work together to ensure national security. This is very important as the peace of the nations is a major contributor in attainment of vision 2035.

Buea is already set for 20th May celebrations.

Still in line with the preparations of the 44th edition of the 20th May celebrations in Buea, I can say everything is ready for the big day. The roads of the town have been beautifully decorated with the colours of the nations flag and so has the grand stand. Going home yesterday from school, I discovered that the marching ground at bongo square had already been arranged two days to the grand day. It looked so beautiful.

The 20th of May is celebrated as the national day of Cameroon. A day that has been set aside to celebrate the unity of the country, the day when southern Cameroons reunited with their brothers of the Republic of Cameroon after they were partitioned by the British and the French and ruled as separate entities. The event is going to be a colourful one as it will include a march pass of the army and other forces, pupils students, political parties and also cultural groups.
